In our stores we sometimes receive defective kettles in which the cause of the problem is the limescale in the appliance. It is important to maintain the equipment properly. Read our tips here.
A common cause of a defective kettle is excessive limescale. Lime prevents the heating element from heating the water properly. It then takes longer for the water in the kettle to heat up.
Excessive limescale can also prevent the kettle from turning off in time. And in the long term, the kettle can break down from the deposit.
A few tips:
- do not boil eggs in the kettle!
- do not boil the same water over and over again
- descale the kettle regularly (easily with water + vinegar or lemon juice)
Good luck!
